Who: Madrox, Valkyri and Elixir
What: A meeting with the healers
When: Saturday afternoon
Where: The Haven war room
Jamie was still trudging away at his attempt at this leadership thing, first impressions be damned. His first meeting with the X-Men had not been great, and he was aware of that. He knew his mistake, he had tried to make friends, to charm and be a Chatty Cathy. That was not what those in the team wanted, nor was it what Xavier needed of him. Since this realization, he had done his best to be different. More serious, to the point. A leader, not a buddy. He could be a friend when the time called for it, but he had to focus on getting the team together, making them confident in themselves, yadda yadda yadda. Madrox was still kicking himself for that mistake, but today was not about the past or mistakes, it was about the future and making sure all his people had the best chance of surviving whatever trouble they came up against.
The Multiple Man sat as patiently at the head of the War Room table as he was able, truth be told he wanted to pace and fidget, but he needed to remain calm and at least appear to be in control. He had summoned two very important members of the X-Men, their healer and their medical doctor, people who had no real powers ready to be used on the front line. He wanted to make sure they understood why he was requiring them to participate in the Danger Room training sessions, he would not blame them if they were annoyed. He had put it off a little longer than he probably should have, but he felt like there was no time like the present. Especially after that dream last night. He was not one to put much stock in dreams, given he was used to different personalities in his brain being at war with each other and producing some very odd internal arguments, but his concern was for his team. He wanted to make sure everyone would have the best chance of survival, and the people who kept his people alive were at the front of his mind. It was to be a simple enough conversation and should go well.
So why was he nervous as a boy before a college interview? At least he looked good, his smile casual and posture open and welcoming as he watched the two enter. Here we go, he thought as he rose and leaned forward to shake hands. "Hello, thank you for coming."
