She leaned her face into his hand, watching his face carefully to catch the minute little changes – the look of thought in his eyes, the twinge of his eyebrows, a frown pulling at his lips just barely before he smiled and she did, too. “Okay,” she answered, turning and sitting on the bed as the light rushed in. She squinted, as she always did whenever she left his apartment, and pulled on her shoes slowly.
That was it. She had asked him twice, giving him a chance to reconsider and back away, but she was pleased with his reaction. He wasn't overly curious about the mansion, as she imagined he would be if he had been courting her to get ahold of Xavier, but neither was he apprehensive. He seemed to just go with it – which suited her just fine.
On the other hand, he might not be fully aware of what going on missions entailed – how many of her friends had been captured and been permanently changed by it? Some of them even had souvenirs to show for it, her roommate being first in Kitty's mind. And while she wasn't cocky, she knew that her ability made being on the team much less risky, unless she ran across something she couldn't phase through.
Hearing Tobias' voice, she looked up and smirked. “It's orgy central there,” she laughed. “It's what the news report won't tell you.”
