Now that had him sitting up straight, rigid, and with a very odd expression on his face. He had known she was living within the Haven because that was simply his assumption. A mutant from Westchester? Where else did they live? She was a student, hadn't mentioned living with parents. The expression he wore was one of utter surprise that not only was she living there but she was part of the infamous X-men. He almost laughed.
And then, after a moment, he did. A chuckle, smooth and velvet as she edged to the side of his bed to get up. He turned.
"You never told me you were living with another man. He won't be jealous of your visits here, will he?" he grinned and reluctant as he was to do it he leaned over and turned on a lamp. The shadows clung to him as she went about getting dressed.
"I can't teleport us there," he said after a moment, pulling a black thermal on. "I've never been. We'll have to catch a cab or something, babe."
Babe. God, he was calling her pet names now, what was he getting himself into?
