It was a loaded question. Kitty had dreamt about him too, and she was more than curious to see if his dream had been something silly or had been the same as hers. Considering they were in Mutant Town, it would be a fair bet to say there was a telepath or two in the building – maybe the two of them had decided to mess with everyone else's dreams? When she dreamt it, it was too vivid to be an accident, but now, as she struggled to remember, she only recalled bits and pieces. Mostly feelings. She tried to fit Toby into the pieces, but she couldn't quite place him.
And actually, now that she thought about it, she remembered interfaces and code, like she had been actively writing code or maybe trying to recall the structure of something. As he began, speaking with great effort, she let herself be comforted by his touch, but when he mentioned someone else, she opened her eyes.
There was someone else – wasn't there? She trusted the other person; he was really familiar, and she knew what he was going to do next. A teammate, gruff – Warpath? Wolverine? Shit. It was Wolverine; she remembered his claws. She dreamt about Toby while she was in an X-Men mission! “Was there a computer?” She paused. That wasn't quite right. “A machine?”
