Visions' origin Who: NPC!Nate Grey Narrative What: Unwanted contact with a world in crisis. When: around 4AM Saturday morning (laaaate after bed Friday) Where: Haven (effects felt all over Eastern Seabord at the least.)
Nate was so far away from his physical form that he only remembered it like a phantom limb, a hollow Nate Grey shape in the fabric of the world he had so joyously rejoined so very recently. His consciousness seemed to be dormant quite a bit these days. Nate would drift off, quite simply, like sleeping, in a much deeper state of unconsciousness than any human could understand who hadn't had a near death experience or something similar.
He had come into self-awareness today with such an incredible yearning for his savior, Rascal, that he had a strange disembodied sensation he could only equate with something setting his teeth on edge. He had lost faith of there being a Heaven of any kind at this point, he had persistently slammed his consciousness against the very fabric of reality looking for such a place to no avail. On the other hand, it had occurred to him that according to some theories, it was plausible than in a different timeline, a theoretical alternate reality, there was a world in which Harrison hadn't died.
Determined to be rejoined with his love, Nate began hurling himself against the very edge of reality, and his psionic output became so great, that the Cerebro unit lit up, apparently on its own. Cerebro and Nate's apparently dormant brain connected in a feedback loop, feeding on each other until he did come up against another, very different reality. A place full of visions so dystopian and horrible, he yanked himself away from it and back into his unconscious, no-mind state.
These visions, more readily available to precogs, as it was a possible future, resonated through Cerebro who broadcast it, greatly amplified to all open minds for miles around.
