Sabbah was a bit nervous at the thought of this training. She wasn't experienced at combat. She was a healer of wounds, not an inflicter of them. Still, it would probably be good for her to know how to defend herself. She didn't want to be a burden on the team any more than she wanted to be a sitting duck. She knew that the medical corps was always a target for that very reason, for all that conventions opposed the hurting of non-combatants. She didn't think anyone the team went up against would hold by the normal conventions of human decency. If they did, the team wouldn't be going up against them.
Her society had long been plagued by freedom fighters. And now it seemed she was to become one. Strangely, she could face that with equanimity. When they had no other choice and couldn't trust those in power to protect them, then they had to do what they had to do.
