Storm came to the group meeting in spite of feeling almost as if she had no real part in the group anymore. Truthfully, that was mostly because she'd been away for so long and then essentially required to take some time off once she was back in order to bring herself physically back up to speed. Which was immediately followed by two major blows to her mental stability in the form of Wisdom leaving, though they were amicable and she didn't blame him for it, and Harrison dying. The death of Harrison, who had been more than just a collegue, but also a friend, confidante, and maybe a little like a son at times, had hurt her deeply. Probably more deeply than she cared to admit.
It had made her wish, immediately, for Wisdom to still be around so she had at least one person around whom she felt safe admitting sheer, horrific weakness. Wisdom was, unfortunately, gone. Her support network, at least of those she saw as true peers and not younger friends who were looking to her to be a rock solid personality, was decimated. So she carried the burden quietly into the meeting with her.
Jamie becoming the field leader bothered her, in a surface way since she had been field leader and had only surrendered the position to Havok due to him being better equipped, at least in her mind, to do the job. Whether or not that had been true, she honestly didn't know. The only real field mission she had been on under Havok's command ended in her being captured and subsequently tortured for several weeks culminating in her escaping on her own. If she were more cynical, Storm might have thought her team had simply left her there to rot. If that was the case, she didn't let it get to her. There was truthfully nothing to say on that score. They were now getting a new leader.
Rather than say anything, she sat, quietly, her hands folded in her lap and waited for someone else to say something. Jamie had made a right fool of himself from the start, that much was true; however, it was nothing he couldn't recover from if he just kept going. It wasn't as if they were expecting him to be 100% perfect on his first day.
