It was a good thing that Sabbah had neither experience with Jamie nor with the X-men in general. As another new face, she could look at this objectively.
And objectively, she had to wonder just what Charles was thinking in entrusting his beloved team to... she wasn't even sure what the word was in English to describe the young man now sitting at the head of the table. He seemed nervous and disorganized. Add in the comment about sexual harassment and Sabbah was really quite concerned about just what she'd signed up for.
Perhaps he'd needed it. She didn't know the gossip about his relationship with Wisdom, but she did know it was his roommate who had died the week before. Maybe giving him this commission had been one of the ways Charles was trying to help this Jamie deal. If so, that might have been a large gamble on Charles' part.
Or maybe he'd simply ended up here the way she had. She'd been staying at Haven, working in the infirmary and training Josh when she wasn't at the clinic, and one day Charles had asked her how she'd feel about joining his team as a field medic. There wasn't much she could say to refuse her benefactor, and indeed, she would have gone to help regardless. She took her oath seriously, after all. She didn't even realize she was pushing herself until she was going to burn out in order to compete with mutations she had no real way of competing with.
Still, as a new member of the team, she didn't think it her place to say much. So instead she sat back and observed the reactions hoping to learn more about her new teammates by being here.
