Now he was a tad confused. She was the one who wanted him to stay an extra day but now she was saying that it was no longer necessary? It didn't really matter in the end, he thought with an inner sigh. She hadn't explicitly said no before but now she had. Did he continue to pursue her or call off the hunt entirely?
Calling it off didn't sit well with his competitive nature nor the deep now burning desire that was slowly smoldering inside him for her. He'd honestly never felt this way before for a woman. Desire, yes, need? No. Because he didn't just want her body, he wanted her smile, her laugh, the spark in her eyes when she was angry and that pinched look in her eyes when she was thinking. He could handle rejection just fine (as rare as it was), he just didn't like it from her.
"Then I'll finish up here and go as soon as I get medical clearance," he replied returning to his jar stuffing and bottle filling. He'd been lingering too long anyway and apparently well overstayed his welcome. It was just that... he liked her. A lot. Was that so bad?
