Who: Mystique OT Kurt What: A family reunion of sorts When: Sunday Afternoon Where: Uncommon Grounds
Mystique had been happier in the last day than she'd been in the last fifteen years. Irene was back in her life, which meant of course that life could go on. More than that, life did go on. The reunion between the two of them had been joyous, but living together once more, both with the issues they'd gained in the last fifteen years, was going to require an adjustment period. It wasn't that she was surprised by this. She wasn't. She'd been around enough families going through reunions after long periods of separation to know that there would be many ups and downs. People changed. They grew. Often, they grew apart. Fifteen years with no contact was plenty of time for a hell of a lot of growth.
One of those areas it seemed was Irene's fervor over the importance of family and ties of love. Though Irene had accepted Raven's decision to leave Kurt at the hospital when he was a baby since Raven was still an assassin for the government and the women had thought he'd have a happier family life away from that, once she found out that Raven's son was living right here in New York and he didn't have a family to call his own, nothing else would do but for Raven to take him back as her own. It didn't seem to matter that Raven had no idea how to be a mother to anyone, much less to a grown man, Irene felt the ties were important.
So Raven had called him. Called. On the phone. Like a normal person. Called and asked him to meet her. Had set a time and a place for something other than an assassination or a hoist.
And here she was. Three pm in Uncommon Grounds in all her mutant glory on a Sunday afternoon. Sipping her coffee and waiting for her son.
