The comms came alive, with everyone in security or on the Haven teams set to high alert. All sensors and radar along the fences and all over the grounds began deep scanning the area, and automated defense systems were in stand-by mode. They plotted most the likely points of entry and informed the people on the commlink.
"Any trained personnel near possible points of entry, please respond," one of the security staff said.
"I'm on it," Logan's gravelly voice piped in over his comm. "Codename Wolverine already on site near the fence just north of the main gate." After a pause, he added with an edge of a growl, "Get Chuck to safety." He only vaguely remembered returning to the Haven after being in the clutches of the people who gave him his metal. He wasn't sure he wanted to remember any more than he already did. If Wild Child was in any kind of shape like he was, there would be trouble. Polaris hadn't mentioned any metal claws, however, so perhaps it wouldn't be so bad.
Yeah, and if wishes were fishes...
"I have a visual. I got this," he ground out, taking off at a dead run the moment he saw Wild Child jump over the fence. He was almost on him by the time the blond feral hit the ground. Logan grimaced as sharp adamantium tore through the skin between his knuckles. Being a healer meant every time he extracted his claws hurt like the first time. Logan had mostly learned to ignore it by now, it was just a short-lived stab of pain that only helped feed the anger that fueled his feral side. He stopped a few feet from the awaiting Wild Child and growled at the crouching mutant. "Ya better stay down if ya know what's good for ya, bub," he spat through clenched teeth.
