Just when things were starting to go back to normal (whatever the hell normal was), they took a turn back for the worst. Only a few days after she had been rescued, Laura found out that Lotte had been killed in Mutant Town and even though there wasn't much that Laura could have done for her friend, she still felt like it was her fault. The feral couldn't help but feel responsible for everything that went wrong lately and that was a huge burden to carry.
Sitting around at the Haven with almost nothing to do was becoming too much for Laura to handle. People were starting to back off with all their concern for her, but she still felt like she was being smothered. She needed to get out, even if only for a few hours.
Laura walked into Uncommon Grounds, seeking shelter from the cold outside. Even with her down jacket and her hood over her head, she could still feel the cold seeping into her bones. Then again, she felt cold pretty much all the time now. Stepping up to the counter, she ordered a large hot chocolate and promptly got a weird look from the barista. Laura couldn't care less if her order seemed odd. Once she paid for her beverage, she picked it up and scanned the shop for a place to sit. That's when she spotted Sam sitting on his own towards the back and approached him. "Mind if I sit?"
