The dead body of someone she knew haunted her dreams that night. She kept imagining Lotte suddenly jerking up from where she lay with a rattling gasp for air as if she had just been saved from drowning. Then, just after she'd sit up she'd reach out for Tabby but her skin would drip off her bones like wax and leave her as nothing but a skeleton that would soon clatter back to the dirty alley ground.
Sleeping didn't come easily, that was for sure, and neither did resting on her one day off the next day when she kept wondering about Rogue and her whereabouts. She called up to Camelot to see if Rogue ever came in but she didn't, and there was no sign of her at the base. Tabby hated how easily she began to worry for the other girl though they weren't the best of friends. Rogue was one of Tabby's only girl friends, really and that was what made it worse.
Eventually, around four thirty in the afternoon, Tabby could no longer bear waiting so she spent a little cash on a cab and booked it to the only place where Rogue mentioned she might be, a place Tabby knew little about but had heard of. Even the cab driver seemed to know the place as he didn't ask for much help in finding it. A while later, after having fallen asleep in the back of the cab, Tabby was shaken awake by the long arm the cab driver who had opened the door for her when they arrived.
"Huh? Oh... how much? Here just.. keep the change," she stuffed a couple bills in his hand and slid out of the backseat. He had driven her all the way to the front entrance, through the gates so that she was now standing before the front doors. After a moment of hesitation and with a small scowl she rushed up the steps and began knocking heavily on the door, determined to not like whoever decided to open it. After all, they were keeping Rogue away from her, which made her worry, which made her bite her nails, which made her need a manicure which in the end cost her money.
