Consciousness was barely there as Laura tried to remain aware even through the thick, black bag they had put over her head. Where the hell was she? Was she even in the same building she had been caught in? There was no way of her knowing anything, not even how much time had passed since she and Bryan had been caught. All she knew was that she felt drained and her entire body ached. Laura's hands and face were bloodied as she was being dragged by four heavily armed men through the dark, underground hallways of this facility.
They might have deprived her of her sight, but all her other senses were working on overdrive. She could hear every drop of water from a leaky pipe nearby, every breath that these men took. She could smell the dampness in the air and the sweat that was pouring off these men in fear. Feeling a surge of energy, Laura thrashed against the chains they had wrapped around her arms and legs, getting one good punch in before she was hit by three tasers. Screaming out in pain, she convulsed for a few seconds before going limp and letting them continue to drag her along.
A new scent pricked at her nose and she instantly recognized it. Bryan was nearby. Laura kept quiet though, thinking it best to stay limp as she was moved around. A few seconds passed and she heard a metallic door being unlocked and swung open. In one swift move, all four men threw her in and closed the door behind them. Laura stayed lying on the floor until she heard their footsteps retreat far enough. The cells were dark, cold and everything else that could possibly be the opposite of comfortable, but the fact that she could smell her partner's scent made her feel a bit at ease. "Bryan..." she croaked out, her voice raspy as she slowly pulled the bag off her head.
