There was a flash of recognition in her eyes as she heard the man's codename. Warpath. Laura had certainly heard about him from Logan, so the points just kept stacking up in this man's favor. She felt she could trust him a little bit more, but she would remain cautious regardless. It wasn't something that could be shaken from her easily, especially not after everything she went through in this torturous place.
Once they were out the door, Laura eyed all the other men suspiciously, especially the one that seemed to be questioning Warpath. When they started moving through the hall, she followed close by, her eyes scanning the entire perimeter and assessing any potential threat. The scent of blood overwhelmed Laura's nose as did the scent of powder from the explosives and the resulting stench of charred flesh. Upon seeing a bunch of dead scientists, she felt what could only be described as a sense of satisfaction. They deserved the end they got for the horrible things they had subjected her and other mutants to.
The crisp, night air was a welcome feeling and Laura breathed in deeply the moment they stepped outside. After all this time, she thought she'd never see the outside world again, but she was finally out of that hellhole. As they were moving ahead, her head snapped towards the sounds of gunfire, her instincts pulling at her to go and fight, but she was intent on at least attempting to obey with Warpath's request.
That all changed when they arrived at the SUVs. Laura's eyes moved from the open door back up to the large man. "There's no way in hell I'm gonna be a sitting duck waiting to be picked off. I'm safer out here." Yes, she was stubborn, but she felt she was right. At least if she was outside, she could see any oncoming attacks much faster than she would if she were sitting in the SUV. That and she'd also be able to mobilize and attack before the threat could grow. Warpath could say whatever else he wanted. Laura wasn't going to budge.
