Behind the mask there was the first real sign of emotion from the man as the claws came sliding out. Even as James was taking a step back, just in case, surprise had flashed across his eye, followed by a gaze that narrowed immediately after. He recognized things like that. He knew someone with a mutation like that. And the way the girl managed to somehow rip new wounds where there should have been nothing but raw meat...it drew a low, annoyed word from the man. "Shit."
After a momentary glance around, to make sure he'd hit the camera in the room when he shot out most of the lights, the man reached up and pulled the mask off. Just for now, it would have to go back on when he continued, but he was hoping it would help if she saw a real face instead of just the blank mask. "It's either go with me or be buried when I blow this place. You know someone named Logan?" Yeah, it was a shot in the dark, but it was a shot. And he really didn't want to have to try and cuff her and drag her out of here. That would suck, and he would quite likely get stabbed at least once in the process.
The man at the door was bitching at him about time, and James waved a hand at him in a 'shut the fuck up, I know' gesture. They couldn't stay and chat, but he wasn't about to shoot this one in the head and keep moving. Not if there was the slightest chance that this was another of his friend's relatives. Seems they were popping up all over the damn place.
