Logan literally sighed. Of course he knew this little dance all too well. When things got too damn emotional, one got busy. What else was one going to do? Stand around simpering and wibbling like a little girl? Ridiculous. Still, he had things that needed saying, and if he had to do that standing up, that was just fine with him.
"Fine. Here." He walked up to Karr and handed him the papers. "I was hopin' you'd sign these before you go," he said. "I already have. I know it ain't much, but... well, just read the damn note." And then came the dreaded wait, not knowing what Karr might do at a time like this. He was unpredictable at the best of times, but here was Logan offering him signed adoption papers that would officially make Karr his son. Logan was fully prepared to have the bratty kid throw them in his face, even tear them up. In fact, he had another copy in his room for just such an eventuality. The note was plain enough but, what would Karr do now?
