Jamie watched him, eyes full of sadness. He wanted to help, he could not imagine Peter Wisdom like this. The very sight caused a deep ache in his chest, and he knew he had to make sure no one else saw it. Now he understood why the door was locked. A part of him knew that this was both a burden and amazing privilege to be here, to see his friend and team leader like this. It was not something Madrox was likely to forget any time soon.
He sighed. A quiet, almost amused tone. Stay? Like wild horses could drag him away right now. Really, sometimes Wisdom could be an idiot. Madrox at least managed to keep from chuckling. His hand slid from Pete's shoulder and down to the small of his back as Jamie drew his body closer. He rested his jaw, aching as it may have been, on Pete's shoulder and leaned his chest against the other man's back, offering him something strong and solid to lean back against if he needed. Jamie had a feeling he really did. He said nothing, ever-jabbering Madrox knew that words were going to do very little to help tonight. He had a duty that night, and that was to make sure his friend made it through with some semblance of humanity left.
