Ric tried to focus on a murder mystery instead.
Who: Ric & Star
What: The mood is thoroughly ruined
When: Very early morning Nov 8th (after this) [BACKDATED]
Where: Ric and Star's room in Omega Base
Warnings: Man on man kissing, language, all around frustration
Ric had spent the first part of the evening highly frustrated. Star was different... somehow. Not in a way he could clearly explain, which only served to frustrate the pair of them further. There was that nagging voice in Ric's mind which suggested that perhaps they were growing apart. He really did not want to consider that, he liked Star. He liked what they had together, and Dios knew they were compatible in bed. Sadly, there was a part of Ric that knew that great sex was simply not enough. Star was becoming darker, harder, and Ric had fallen in love with the rather clueless, sometimes even bashful warrior. Not that he wanted him to be that way all the time, Ric was equally enamored with the skilled, trained, all-business warrior that was Shatterstar, but he missed those moments when he was something else. Those private, secret moments which were becoming more and more rare.
There was a knotting concern building in Ric that time apart might be needed, just to evaluate. He had no doubt Star would not approve if it, and it would be pure hell for Ric... but what if it was not hell? It was that line of thought which had caused Ric to lose his temper and send Star out for the night. A long workout later, Ric was rather physically exhausted and feeling a bit better. His birthday was in less than a month, he reminded himself. Maybe he could use that as an excuse to try and improve a few things. He spent several hours calling around to bed and breakfasts and resorts in Upstate, trying to plan a get-away, with varying results. Apparently most places became concerned if you asked about sound proofed rooms or "accidental damage" to bed frames. Live and learn.
At last, Ric had resigned to dropping himself onto the large bed, the only real furniture they currently had in the apartment aside from the mini fridge Star had provided and the upholstered sofa he and Scion had picked up. Wrapped in a rather baggy shirt which had at one point belonged to Star with a book in hand, Ric tried to ignore the issues his mind kept presenting and focus on a murder mystery instead. Too bad it was not working so well.
