Who: Ursus OTA What: Stuck and grumpy When: Friday night, late Where: The Pink Elephant
Lucien MacMahon was a grumpy bear. Quite literally a grumpy bear. That morning (for him, so about dinner time for everyone else) he'd woken, stretched and unwillingly began to change. That wasn't anything new although it was a tad unusual since he hadn't had any unconscious shiftings since he became a mutant a year and a half ago. But ok, so his powers wanted to play, no biggie. It had something to do with the solar flare that his alarm radio had been blathering on about anyway.
But then he couldn't shift back. It was there, the ability and the human were right where they should have been but he couldn't... touch it. Every time he tried gathering up that thing inside him for the change back it stubbornly refused to do its thing. Lucien panicked a little bit. He had to work that night but while that wasn't the issue, the issue was getting to work. There was an instinctive fear of being trapped and killed that was not a fear he had when he was human.
Annoyed, hungry because he couldn't fit in the kitchen to get food then even more annoyed when he could barely squeeze down the stairs and barely squeeze through the doors, he headed off to work. Upside, it was cold and his pelt and the fat on his muscles insulated him very nicely. Downside, the screaming, the people running from him, crossing the road and so on. Lucien gave them all looks of 'come on!'
It was a relief that he finally got to work although getting in the door was enough to irritate him even more. One of the waitresses was, thankfully, a telepath so after she stopped laughing, she wrote a note on a piece of construction paper to wear around his neck as he sat in front of the door.
BEWARE: DO NOT FEED THE BEAR. HE IS PISSED. SHOW HIM YOUR ID AND KEEP MOVING. FEAR THE GRUMPY BEAR GLARE.
