"Really? No, seriously, shut up, shut up.. REALLY?"
That was her reaction upon returning to work after her recent three day stretch of good ol' off time. It wasn't that Tabitha was looking forward to coming back but she was looking forward to the money, which was, at this point in her life, coming to be so necessary that she was now considering a second job. Of course, upon entering the establishment to find it trashed beyond belief (she heard the news, didn't think it would be so bad), it became clear she would now have no choice but to really get to applying for something else.
Waitress, maybe?
She sighed and eyed her boss, who was glaring at her for having just been told to shut up, before she groaned and threw her hands up in the air.
"What am I supposed to do?!"
"Help clean up, what am I payin' ya for?"
"You pay me to shake what my mother gave me and do it naked as a jaybird, there ain't nothin' about that includes cleaning up shit like this.."
"Then you can find a-"
"FINE."
Hours later, after hauling away as much debris as she could physically carry to the dumpsters, Tabitha left for the night angry and very much wanting to kick someone's ass for all the trouble they just gave her. Her walk wasn't a long one, but at this time of night she was still usually on high alert for any freaks that were freakier than the usual mutants of this part of town. The ones that hadn't the sense to assume that any girl walking around Mutant Town was probably packing heat... in her fingers, her mind, in her laser beam eyes or death-stink breath. Or whatever they had. Still, even if she knew she could take anyone who tried to mess with her she simply wasn't in the mood to deal with that.
Of course, her brisk walk didn't end as quickly as hoped. Her hand had slid into the pocket of her zip up, blue hoodie and felt no key. Then her hands dipped into her jean pockets and again: no key.
But hadn't she locked the door behind her? So she had to have had it.. unless she left it in her door..
"REALLY?" She craned her neck back and glared at the dark sky, as if yelling as the heavens was going to magically get her lost key back.
