Annoyed. That's how Laura felt ever since the incident at Camelot on Monday. Never in a million years would she have guessed that Logan and Karr would walk in while she was working. Afterwards, she realized that was just a foolish delusion. The simple fact was, why wouldn't they? Many people from the Haven hung around Mutant Town so why should her father and half-brother be any different?
Since Monday, she had avoided Karr altogether and only spoke to Logan about X-Men business. Their fighting had gotten her fired and she still wasn't over the embarrassment they had caused her. No, this would take a long time to get over.
Now that she was unemployed, she had nothing else to do but train, and that was exactly what she did. Luckily, there wasn't much time for the boredom to set in because she was given her first mission for the X-Men and she gladly took it. A member from another group Laura had never heard of was being sent to investigate an abandoned facility and report back on it. Apparently her role in this would be of the backup variety. She wondered if this was some sort of elaborate prank and ended up asking Logan about this so-called Excalibur team and he confirmed its existance.
Wisdom's words to them were simple: observe, do not engage, and report back any anomalies. That seemed simple enough.
Laura was standing by the river now, on the bank where the abandoned facility was, her eyes staring cautiously up at the building. Sniffing at the air briefly, she picked up no hints of anyone other than her partner in this mission. "Which way are we going in?" Her expression was neutral, but her general posture and demeanor showed that she was all business.
