Re: X-Men Team 3: Polaris/Reaver/Abaddon
Lorna quite literally could not believe her eyes and ears. Here they were, before an enemy combatant who had attacked them, unprovoked, and Karr was completely acting like he was out on the freaking town hitting on women. Was this some sort of feral unity thing, and had she missed the memo?
"Don't you fucking dare walk away, Reaver!" Lorna snarled through gritted teeth. "We're on a mission!" Teammates were supposed to watch each other's backs, not encourage the dangerous psychopath to make out with the female in your team! She had no doubts whatsoever that Havok would kick the brat off the team when she reported his behavior today. Lorna didn't want to be in Reaver's hide when his father heard about it. She had seen how Logan rode Karr about discipline and teamwork. When word reached him of just how blatantly Reaver had disregarded all the hard work he had put into his training, Logan was going to be sorely disappointed. Disappointed... with claws.
And then she got the psycho's little display of impromptu knife play and cryptic answers, and she'd had enough. She had neither the means nor the time to properly interrogate this woman, they were in what was becoming more apparent by the minute was live enemy territory, and she had had it with Karr's lousy and indefensible attitude. She might as well be in the field with two enemy combatants. "Yeah," she snapped back at Abaddon's sociopathic closing statement, still in the most insultingly dismissive deadpan she could muster. "Good luck with that."
The moment she said that, a veritable wall of metal articles all moved as one to pin Abaddon against the wall. She heard metal scrape against floor and wall as she angled them to push the feral woman back until Abaddon was shoved back into the room she'd come out of even as Lorna backed away further into the hallway beyond. Polaris jammed the door with the metal objects, warping them in place. Wherever Abaddon went now, she wouldn't be coming out of that door any time soon. Finally, Lorna 'called' her throwing knives to her and replaced them in their sheaths.
That done, she rounded up on Karr, furious. "Main hallway is down this way," she said shortly. "I'm going to meet the others. You do whatever the hell you want, just stay out of my way." With that, she headed down the hall at a clipped pace, eyes open for any more surprises.
