X-Men Team 2: Storm/Shadowcat/Shatterstar
When she turned to look at Storm, she saw the flash of movement over the other woman's shoulder. She recognized the blur, but for the instant before he either warned them about what they were walking into or announced what he was about to do in the vein of anime fighting, she yelled, “Storm!” and turned down the corner, away from him. Even if they had all lived in the same house, she hadn't exchanged more than a few words with him, certainly not enough to distinguish him from the Brotherhood members with enough honor to not attack the X-Men. That was when she heard the whirring of machinery, even over the sound of her breath and his footsteps, and watched as little holes in the wall appeared and little darts started to fly. She phased before she even processed what was happening, and when the darts pinged off of the wall behind her and landed on the ground, she had a split second to look down and realize they were what Havok had warned them about - “Power suppressing!”
The man had already flew in and started parrying the darts away from Storm, but her protective nature kicked in and Kitty ran toward her teammate. When her feet left the ground, she heard another whirr above her; she raised her gaze and nearly stared slack-jawed as the ceiling slid open and a gate slid down. This was bullshit! She was just outside of the cage, and she jumped up and in an attempt to phase it through the floor, grabbed onto the bars. “Shit!” Shadowcat screamed, letting go, falling onto her back. “It's electrified!” She could barely get her hands on it, let alone grab it long enough to phase it away from them.
