Re: X-Men Team 2: Storm/Shadowcat/ Shatterstar
Once Abaddon had gone her own way and he had alerted his team of this development, Shatterstar decided that it was in his best interest to follow these newcomers quietly. Storm's bright white hair confirmed their identity as X-men, or whatever the Haven people were calling themselves these days. He figured that they might have equal or better intel than his team, and so it was only logical he should pursue and deal with his options as to how to proceed once the target had been located and identified. Once they found the captured mutant or mutants were in play, he'd have to make a conscience call. He didn't know much about Kitty, but he respected Storm, who had been X-men leader while he lived in the Haven. However, they both couldn't get the asset. He would have to decide what to do when and if they got there before one of the other teams did.
He had frozen when Storm stopped to listen, thinking he had grown overconfident and given himself away, but he heard footsteps too. They weren't alone. There was a third party in play, and that might just change the game plan altogether. He remained alert and resumed pursuit of the X-men.
Not much further, he saw the trap before the women did. A red light, invisible to anyone within two meters of it, lit up high up on the hallway ceiling. He shot out at a dead run, drawing his swords as he did. "TRAP!" he called out. They may be on the other side of the fence these days, but some of these X-men had been brothers-in-arms to him in the past, and his honor could not forget that. If they had to face off against each other, so be it, but they deserved better than to be left to fend for themselves against a cowardly trap.
He saw the holes slide open on either side of the hallway around the women, and used his uncanny acrobatic skills to leap, roll in the air, and slap away most of the darts flying at them with his swords. He finally landed in a low crouch, poised to spring again. "Behind you!" he called out, as one section of ceiling parted and a gate started crashing down practically on top of where Ororo and Kitty were standing.
ooc: Let me know if the action stuff is okay. Thought we could use some excitement, but can change if needed.
