When Lotte gasped and told her something was wrong, Laura stopped moving. Instead, she carefully sat her back down on the floor, still shielding her in case any idiot tried to get close again. She didn't even have to ask what was wrong. Her own eyes traveled down to the other girl's side, seeing a huge bruise start to develop over her ribs. "It's ok. Everything's gonna be ok." Things were only getting worse around them, but she knew that would happen before they got better.
The smell of blood, sweat and alcohol all flooded Laura's nose, and yet, she didn't feel as nauseous as her poor friend probably did. Even the gunshot and the accompanied scent didn't bother her, but the shot did cause her to cover Lotte's body with her own. Laura could survive a gunshot, but she knew Lotte wouldn't recover too well from it.
Laura allowed herself to look up from her spot on the ground, only to see Logan go bat-shit crazy on the guy with the gun and Karr ram into some guy who was egging the fight on. Eveyone else except for a bouncer or two had cleared the place, except of course for those poor souls that had thought they stood a chance against these ferals. Those idiots were unconscious and strewn about the entire place.
Once it seemed that the potential threats had been taken care of, Laura sat up and looked back at Logan and Karr with a mixture of relief and annoyance. She didn't know what to say to either of them. A part of her was grateful for them looking out for her, but another part of her blamed them for starting this whole commotion in the first place. Instead of dealing with them, she looked back at Lotte as she lay on the stage. "It's ok. It's over."
