Lotte knew something was wrong when Laura broke the choreography. Glancing down, she saw the panic in her friends eyes but had no idea what put it there. Derick was more than enough to deal with whatever the commotion at the door was... wasn't he? For all that she hated dancing here, she'd never felt afraid. She trusted the other staff at least that far.
Never until now that was. The fear was radiating off Laura in waves, and even though she wasn't sensitive to that sort of thing, she couldn't help but pick up on it. Call it friendship or womanly intuition or whatever you wanted. Laura was about to flip her shit and Lotte had no idea what to do to stop it from happening. It almost felt like being in a car accident. Seeing it coming and knowing that no matter how hard she stomped on the breaks they were still going to eat bumper.
Deciding that something had definitely spooked Laura, she decided to try and impose herself between her friend and the crowd, moving around behind her and dropping down so they were back to back, doing the traditional stripper pose of scissoring her legs to the obvious enjoyment of the men close to the stage.
Most of them, anyway.
One of them was clearly NOT amused by anything. The one coming from the door, moving faster than he had any right to until he was moving RIGHT UP ON STAGE! What the FUCK??!!
He was ignoring her for the moment, but he was heading straight for Laura. Which made sense, given the terror on her friend's face. Wondering what the HELL was going on, Lotte froze, torn between wanting to protect Laura from this man who clearly terrified her and was coming to hurt her, and wanting to run and hide because a small, selfish part of her knew that if it scared Laura it was really fucking scary indeed!
The man was being followed by a bouncer, which made Lotte feel a little better about ducking off the stage and trying to pull Laura along with her before there was some sort of clash between john and bouncer that wouldn't have been out of place on a battlefield.
