Lucien's eyes felt gritty and his head felt like it was full of cotton when he woke. Question was, why had he? Then there was that noise again, the one that had woken him up. It sounded like thumping but not the kind that came with sex. Lucien groaned and buried his head under his pillow. The light was bright and he should have been asleep because he hadn't gotten home until seven in the morning after helping clean up the bar after it'd closed and it was only... Jesus, noon. It was still too early for whatever his neighbor was getting up to.
It quieted for a few moments and Lucien had just managed to drift off again when there was a loud THUD then the screeching wail of a chair or some other furniture being dragged across the floor. "Jesus fucking Christ," he snarled, throwing back his covers and standing with the unsteady wobble of the sleep deprived. He'd only had two shots tequila last night so he definitely wasn't drunk or even hung over but he was very tired. His poor body wasn't used to late nights like that especially when he'd gone in to interview at the Pink Elephant, he hadn't been expecting to get the job immediately and start just as fast.
Yawning, he lurched through his small bedroom and living room to the door. He was in his pyjama bottoms and socks with nothing else but he didn't care. Whoever was next door would have to deal. Stepping out into the hall, he frowned at the boxes in the corridor and the the furniture taking up precious walk space. "Great," he muttered. Someone was moving in. "Hey!"
The door was open so he wove his way through the boxes and furniture to the door and poked his head inside. "Hey! It's only noon you know," he called into the seemingly empty apartment. But he knew someone was in there, he could hear them. "People need sleep!"
