Kurt winced as the now very angry mutant followed him, eyes narrowing as he focused on getting to the door, his heart pounding loudly in his ears. He winced as Scion's voice continued to grow louder and more shrill, eyes closing tightly for a moment as he just tried to ignore it, but then Scion struck a nerve. It was enough to snap Kurt out of what anger he was feeling and drove him the other direction, his expression turning somewhat sad suddenly. He allowed Scion to finish, stopping as he put a oddly shaped hand on the door knob, watching it as he spoke quietly.
"We all have our struggles," he said quietly, all of the hard, clipped edges his voice carried moments before gone, replaced with a soft sadness. "I have been touched with the mark of the devil, but fight to overcome my flaws. I will pray for you." He was too shaken to continue this, and he simply wanted to escape the entire situation. With the anger gone, a knotted sick feeling had settled in his stomach. Without another word or another look back, Kurt swiftly opened the door, rushing into the waiting halls of the Haven, ready to teleport away if he heard Scion following.
