Re: Rictor & Shatterstar
Oh yes, relationships did take work, and Ric was suddenly reminded why had had generally avoided them. Why was he in this one again? Oh yeah, the sex. Incredible. Right. Anyway, the talk was going to happen, certainly. Something was odd and Ric really needed to make sure that whatever had sent Star on that near killing frenzy did not pop up again. Had he been like this before? Robocop Star had never shown that kind of rage, he noted mentally. He had approached everything with a cold, calculated distance. So why this, and why now? A twinge of guilt rose up in Ric's gut as one possibility occurred to him. Did I do this to him? That was not a pleasant thought.
Ric nodded and hurried out of the room, waiting for Shatterstar to finish his broadcast before he thrust one thumb over his shoulder. "Let's get while the getting's good." He cracked another attempt at a smile before he turned to move his ass. He winced physically when the unmistakable sound of a gunshot cracked the silence, and the wailing alarms made the need to move seem all that more urgent. "Thought I disabled those," he grumbled under his breath. He shot Star a worried look as they rushed towards the stairs to get to the next floor to destroy the files there. "You think something went wrong?" He did not want to get out of there only to find out that one of their teammates had been shot. Well, at least not a teammate who could not heal with superhuman speed, then it might not be so bad.
Rictor wasted no time once they entered the storage room one floor above. Short legs carried him to one corner of the room where he started to haul out drawers and fling papers to the floor. He assumed Star would start at the other side and they would meet in the middle. This room would go faster as Ric did not have to spend any more time messing with computers. He kept stealing glances to Shatterstar, hoping that his radio would bring news of whatever had happened to result in gunfire and alarms.
