"It means ya were a little late in tellin' me, bub," Karr snapped right back. Nope, still not housebroken. He threw the term Logan so often used back at him with a mocking air, not at all liking being called boy. His face ached so badly that he at least had sense enough not to try and pick a physical fight with the older man, but that was not going to stop him from using words. "I was gonna fuck 'er." Okay, so that was something of an overstatement. Laura would clearly have not let him near her, but Karr was nothing if not a big talker.
He snorted, and quickly regretted the action, given the way it sent a splitting ache through his skull, but he sucked it up and set his jaw stubbornly, not about to show anymore weakness than he had to. He casually tossed his now empty beer away into whatever pile it landed in and crossed his arms over his chest, lips still pressed into a hard line. "Yer right, ya don' get ta pick blood. I already one sister an' one baseline family, an' lemme tell ya, I don't think highly of either." He was so wrapped up in himself that the emotions Logan was facing upon discovering he had another child did not even dawn on Karr. He just knew that he did not like it. He still felt betrayed. Somehow.
I ain't never gonna be sorry yer my kid. The words pulled harder shadows onto Karr's face, his eyes narrowing and jaw setting. His heart broke inside his chest as the mask of anger formed more firmly over his face. He watched Logan go without another word, fighting the emotion climbing into his chest until long after footsteps had faded from the hall. Only then did he move, letting out another near roar as he turned his attention to the nearest objects piled about the disaster zone that was his room. Snarling, huffing, growling and shouting, Karr set to work destroying anything he could break, shattering, throwing, ripping and stomping as he tried to find some release for all he was feeling. Come morning he would regret destroying his guitar and shredding his duffel bag, but that would be morning, for now Karr simply needed to feel in control of something. Anything.
