Frederick didn't know whether to smack Bryan or give him a hug. Stupid boy was so unpredictable, which was what kept him on his toes. He wasn't going to lie and say that wasn't part of the attraction. Plus, he was funny. Not a lot of people made Frederick laugh. He was laughing now, and trying to be stern at the same time. It didn't quite work. "God, you're so fucking annoying. Shut the fuck up, I said!" didn't have quite the same oomph when he was grinning and trying hard not to chortle with laughter. "Idiot," he said fondly, pinching a nipple playfully.
He wondered what this project was that was keeping Bryan at the Haven. He made a mental note to grill him for information at a later time. The mention of his brother made his mirth dissipate. He'd heard by now about how important Reed was to Bryan, even though they were fiercely competitive, and he had found out Reed was that human living in the Haven. He knew for a fact a baseline human would be less than welcome at Omega base. In fact, he'd be very likely to be in danger from some of the Brotherhood members. Not all of the people now living there were folks from the Haven, and some had pretty radical human-hating ideas. He wisely let the subject drop.
"I'm not bored, baby. And if you're not either, well, more power to you. Forget I said anything," he said dismissively, like he didn't care one way or another.
He never stopped touching his friend. "So... I saved you from a fate worse than death tonight, huh?" he said casually, but wagged his eyebrows at Bryan meaningfully.
