Intended to primarily aid in mutant-related incidents, the robot has been aptly code-named "SENTINEL" and is currently in alpha testing. The new SENTINEL robot is far more sophisticated than bomb-disposal robots and is equipped with basic artificial intelligence. Developers boast that there are multiple advantages to using robotic forces over humans when dealing with renegade mutants, citing the reduced likelihood of human casualties and the built-in weaponry planned for the SENTINEL units.
While still a long way from being integrated into Sentinel Soldier teams, the government has big plans for this investment. SENTINELS will be equipped with all registered mutant data as well as face recognition software. Spokesmen claim they hope to test integrating SENTINELS in with their human counterparts as soon as the new year.
