Laura had that same feral mutation. Her senses were heightened above normal human levels, but Logan's scent didn't stick out in her mind. Hell, she couldn't even really smell him, which was odd, but she didn't question it.
Shrugging one shoulder at his condolences, her eyes kept roaming around the room. It wasn't until he started speaking about his mutation that she looked back at him. They were all things that she was also capable of. Laura remained quiet, unsure of where he intended to go with everything he said though she had a vague idea.
Her eyes remained on him even when he looked away, so she certainly caught the mumble to himself. This was extremely awkward.. maybe moreso for him though because Laura didn't really feel that way. When he mentioned being able to smell when people were related, her breath hitched slightly. Her body tensed up even more than it had been when she first saw his claws. This was it, wasn't it?
As much as she tried, Laura just couldn't look away from him. Shaking her head, all the puzzle pieces seemed to fall into place inside her mind. "My mother and grandparents died shortly after the solar flare and I don't know who my father is. I was conceived through artificial insemination." It was all true, except now she had a feeling that she was standing before the man that was responsible for half of her genetics. And since it didn't seem like he was about to ask the question that they were both wondering, she was gonna have to do it herself. "Can you smell if... we're related?"
