Logan grunted his thanks for the beer and bit off the cap, spitting it out without even thinking about it, and chugged down half the bottle. So much for keeping an orderly room to give Karr a good example. Oh well. He had too much on his mind right now to worry about that too. Or something.
"Good. Keep it that way. Don't wanna get anyone worked up in case it's nuthin'" He took another swig of his beer "Can't be the only bastard in the world with these, yannow?" he went on, popping his claws with barely a wince. He had started getting good at pretending it didn't hurt every time those sharp claws tore through his perfectly healed skin. Most of the time he found he could pretty much ignore the painful stabs.
Logan froze, his jaw jutting out unhappily. He'd just had an awful thought. Had he really given these pig stickers and the pain that went with them to a little girl? He contracted his claws back into his body, horrified and trying not to show it. His vision wavered slightly, and he jumped to his feet in a hurry. Something in his eye, that's all it was. And he'd gladly shred anyone who said different to pieces. He slammed his beer bottle on the floor next to the empty one, where it would remain, unfinished and forgotten.
"There's sumthin' I gotta do, Pete. I forgot," he lied in a steady voice. "You ain't gotta leave, but I do. Make yerself at home." He was already pulling on his boots as he spoke. When those were on, he snatched a thick, forest green flannel shirt which was hanging on the back of a chair and shrugged it on on his way to the door. He paused before stepping outside and glanced over his shoulder at Colossus.
"Thanks, Pete. For telling me," he said, even though he wasn't exactly grateful. He was upset, and unhappy, and feeling guilty as sin; but he appreciated being told all the same. That's what those thanks meant. It had to be done, and Piotr had done him a solid by coming over and telling him instead of letting Logan find out by accident. He nodded at his friend with a grunt, his way of saying later, dude, and went away to check on that girl's scent before the uncertainty drove him completely nuts.
