Some people are just more calm than others.
Who: Storm OT Havok
Where: The Atrium
When: Thursday Evening
What: Storm and Havok have a discussion about the future of the Haven team, the X-men.
The break between Erik and Charles was putting untold strain on everyone. The entire haven was collectively holding its breath while waiting to see whether or not this difference of opinion was going to get worse, get better, or do nothing at all. Storm was not one of those fretting about it. For her, the choice was simple. It was a choice to take a more aggressive approach or to continue with a near completely pacifistic approach. Storm did not see violence as much of an answer. Yes, Nature would kill if necessary; however, Nature only killed when there was a purpose. A brush fire cleared large swaths and set the stage for new growth. Animals killed in order to eat.
Only humans killed to make a point.
Storm did not see the need to go there. As far as she was concerned, in the end, life would go on. If Nature could create mutants, then humans, as they were not willing to destroy themselves, could not get rid of them. It was a moot point. Mutants came from humans. So long as there were humans, there would be mutants. That particular ship had sailed as the saying went.
It was perhaps a bit fatalistic to look at it that way, but Storm had found most things in life were pretty simple. The older woman sat in the atrium with a cup of peppermint tea steaming not far from her hand. She had her body folded into a lotus position, slowly taking one deep breath after another. As was her usual, she wore what would be considered little. Little more than a bra and shorts. Summer was still hanging overhead, despite the official end having come, keeping the atrium still rather warm. The sun was going down on the horizon, throwing a gold glow over the room. The gold seemed to halo her body and gave her white hair gilded edges. All together, she looked extremely zen. Pity she couldn't offer this sense of peace to anyone else in the house.
