There was nothing about Kyle which came off as a threat, which was perhaps why Nik simply didn't react to him as if he could be. Logan carried himself with aggression, dominance. The other kid might as well be a puppy, and indeed, that was almost how the black furred feral was regarding him. When he caught Logan's reaction to Kyle, however, it drew another of those headtilts as he furrowed his brow. Trying to understand just why the other man was so uncomfortable. The growl wasn't missed in his tone, and for a second Nik's ears - his real ones - flicked under the illusion, and he shifted. Warring instincts, the first saying to protect Kyle oddly enough, and the second saying to be wary of upsetting Logan.
The developing situation was diffused rather nicely by the enthusiastic feral's brush against the offered arm, though, and as quickly as that Nik settled. It wasn't real violence in the air, just tension.
It was the question which finally drew a low, rough laugh from Nik again. "It is miraculous, is it not?" He'd been shocked the first time he'd been shown the device which made him appear human. Shocked and quite happy. "The fur is here. This...what I look like right now...it's an illusion." Would the other man even understand what that meant? Hard to judge, based off the way he was speaking. "Watch." And he'd reach down to touch the image inducer, trying to make that obvious as he turned it off. "See? The fur is real." It didn't seem so awful of a thing in the company of other ferals. His form surely wasn't as monstrous to them as it was to the 'normal' mutants.
