Nik was somewhat used to people reacting to him with fear, in his manwolf form. Not so much aggression, though, and the fact that such had not faded from Logan's scent was enough to almost set his own instincts off again. Which was why he'd remain silent, just concentrating on not letting that bone deep growl out. Instead he just remained crouched, hoping the posture would convey the submission that this form didn't do so well in body language. In some ways it was easier to communicate with other ferals in his wolf shape.
The question drew a shake of his head, as he finally raised his eyes to look at Logan more directly. Clothing wasn't something he'd had when he fled Haven so it wasn't something he had at the moment. And really, it was furthest from his mind. The next words did bring an answer, the low growl nearly riding the words as Nik spoke. "I will not go back. Not after what happened." He was refusing to return, and perhaps for an understandable reason. There would be another pause as he tilted his head, studying Wolverine as he slowly stood, returning to a more bipedal stance.
"You smell like him. His father, yes?" The accent was a bit thicker now, perhaps making the words more difficult to understand, but such was the nature of his mutation. "I will not go back to hurt someone else, but if you would like my life in payment for his, I would count it a fair trade." Of course, his instincts were not so easily conquered. If Logan did want such a thing there would be a fight, a fact that was emphasized as Nik chuckled. It was a perhaps disturbing sound if you didn't recognize it, but it was there none-the-less. "I cannot promise to make it easy, for I am no more human than you are, but it can be done." Oh, he knew this man was a feral. It was etched in every line of the way his opponent held himself, in the way he had tracked him, and even in his approach to the situation.
