Frederick gave Rictor's retreating form the reverse nod with a tight lipped smile as a final goodbye. He stayed outside to finish his cigarette, letting the smoke calm him down. He was thinking of their final exchange. Maybe he'd gotten a bit too personal, he thought, because Ric had been fairly friendly until all of a sudden he bolted like he couldn't wait to get away from Frederick. He had to wondered if he smelled, or something. He even sniffed at his shirt, and then his armpit, just to make sure that wasn't it. Do I offend? Sheesh.
The truth was, Frederick was lonely. He had yet to make any real friends here, and the one person he knew had been notably absent the last few days. If he didn't know better, he might think Jamie Madrox was purposely avoiding him. In fact, he very much didn't know better. Jamie might very well be avoiding him. The thought made him pout. He was going to have to find Jamie and... and...
And do what? Nag him into being your friend? Get a clue, dood. No. He would have to look elsewhere for companionship. A pity, too, he thought. That Jamie had surely had grown up handsome.
"Geez, Louise," he snapped out loud at himself. "Bummer, much?" He finished his cigarette in a hurry and went back inside. He needed to change into happier clothes and go do something with his day. He was no good to anyone moping around the mansion now, was he? With all the mutants in this place, there were bound to be one or two others who knew how to have fun.
