For a moment, Jamie was pleased. Things seemed to be recovering, getting back to normal, and then... and then it came, and Jamie felt like a massive heel again. He palmed over his face and looked for his happy spot before looking back to Fredrick.
"Look, you've got it wrong," he began, his tone devoid of anger, at least. "I don't think you're going to 'gay me up' or whatever, believe me, you don't have to explain these things to me, or apologize, or whatever. Whatever makes you happy, man, I'm all for it." He stepped back a half step and motioned over his body. "They call me the Multiple Man now, every duplicate I make of myself has a different personality, a different part of me. Trust me, I've faced parts of me that most people don't even want to admit exist. Ever tried to talk to yourself when you're suicidal? I have." He was pointedly skipping over the fact that he had at least one raging gay duplicate and two or three he had come across that were at least bisexual. Perhaps that was what had him all riled up, he likely wouldn't kick Slade out of his bed if he showed up there. Bad thoughts, bad thoughts, back on topic.
"So really, please, I know I freaked but... what you think... that wasn't why." I'm not your family, Fredrick, he thought without speaking it. While that was what he was heading towards, he knew better than to push that particular button. "So..." Deep breath to center himself again and he put on a quick smile. "Let's get me to a doctor, huh?" He suggested, reaching to open the med-lab door, wincing when twisting his wrist caused a shot of pain up his arm. ..Okay, maybe a quick exam wasn't an all around bad idea....
