"Don't apologize," Jamie objected, raising one hand. "God, we've always been like this, haven't we? I thought I had issues with my dupes, but you show up and I get even worse." He laughed, not an entirely genuine sound. "You gave me training to deal with... myself, so I guess I owe you a thanks for that?" He sighed again as he stepped in and out of the elevator, the silence feeling quite awkward between them.
"Look," Jamie managed at last, looking to Slade with a small smile. "I'm going to the med-lab, you've done your part. You can go do... whatever it was you were going to do with a clear conscious. I'm fine, really." He really had no idea what else to do or say and it only seemed right to give him an out if he had better things to do with his time.
