"What? No, man. You're not okay. You were just hit by a car. You're probably in shock," he pressed on, rationalizing Jamie's marked lack of enthusiasm that way. His arm had insistently followed Jamie's body, determined, until it was allowed to perch upon his shoulders. He wasn't about to let go so easily. He was somewhat surprised to find hard muscle under Jamie's clothes, but he didn't comment on it. He filed that information away for later, since it would hardly be appropriate right then, what with his feelings being hurt and all. "Aw, man... Ouch, okay? Ouch. I'll have you know I'm an excellent driver... usually..." He had the grace to look chagrined and shifty eyed when he said the last. The awkward feelings made him frown at Jamie. He let out an exasperated sigh.
"Look, Kiki. Shut up and get in the car. You're seeing a doctor, and that's the end of it." Yeah, Frederick was used to being obnoxiously persistent until he got his way, and it showed. Pushy bastard? Him? Never!! Besides, he was used to their old dynamic, in which Jamie tended to defer to him more often than not. It wasn't surprising, seeing as Frederick's father was helping fund Madrox senior's research at the time. It only stood to reason that dad would have told Jamie to be extra nice to the boss' brat, or something along those lines.
Saying that Frederick pretty much alternately pushed and dragged Jamie into the passenger seat might be stretching the truth some, but not nearly as much as one would expect. He went so far as to fuss over putting the seatbelt on him, without any regard to personal space. Frederick thought nothing of it, as if it was the most normal thing in the world. The guy certainly saw the world through a unique perspective.
