Re: Outside
"New paint job?" A smirk there, as she looked the van over once more. "I sure as hell hope you didn't pay that much for it. Think I could do better with a can of spray paint and an hour. Ok, maybe a couple cans. That thing is huge." Not that hers was exactly small. Needed that huge Detroit big block under the hood to make it move the way she wanted it to.
It was obvious she didn't buy a word of his innocent explanation. "So, your friend happen to be inside the courthouse? Doing something that involves blowing holes in walls?" A low chuckle, as she shook her head...and then paused, glancing up the street. There were sirens. Distant, but headed their way. Something that was only going to further complicate the situation.
On top of that, the noise from the crowd out front had taken an ugly turn. Shouting was interspersed with noises of actual fights, the occasional broken bottle, and rocks going through windows or hitting walls. "Sound like the cops are gonna arrive soon. Sure you want to be here when they do? Whomever's inside is gonna get jacked up, and I doubt you want to take on an entire squad by yourself." It was simple expedience on her part. "Even if they're heading for the fight out front, they'll check the back." And Shard had no intention of being here when they did.
