Ruth nodded to his assessment. It was interesting to think about how far she had come. The medication wasn't truly necessary anymore. Her brain seemed to have acclimated itself to the pretty much constant use of her abilities.
"Mr. Wisdom's an interestin' fella." Ruth had been through a number of things on the surface of Wisdom's mind throughout their occasional interactions. She didn't dig because digging among friends was considered to be poor form. "Ah'm guessin' he's waitin' on me for somethin'." She wasn't deaf to the man outside the door, but she wasn't going to hurry herself because of him. "This mess with what's been goin' on recently's got him goin'."
Ruth would have had to have been deaf as well as blind in order to not notice how the very air of the Haven had changed over the past week. Deaths seemed to be piling up. It was painful to think about.
"Don' need nothin' else and Ah guess ah'd best go put ma boss outta his misery." Ruth was obviously amused, her lips curling into a smile as she levered herself up out of the chair. "Been a pleasure, Professor. Ah'll holler if ah need anythin' further."
Ruth slipped her sunglasses down from the top of her face to cover her eyes.
Once she let herself out of the Professor's office, she turned as if looking at Wisdom.
