Who: Nik and Cable What: Nik's arrival at Haven When: Thursday, late afternoon Where: Front lawn Warnings: Language, possible violence
The stickers plastered all over it proclaimed its origin as Germany, and one was a military transport sticker that Cable might recognize. Of course, the rest of the stickers proclaimed 'live animal', 'caution', 'handle with care', and such things. The shipping manifest, if he bothered to check it, stated that it was a stud dog for a new line of German-bred police dogs, apparently ordered by the Haven.
Of course, the creature that would every now and then peer out of one of the slits in no way resembled a dog. Even for a wolf it was huge, easily twice the size of a large Timber, and black from nose to tail-tip. It also was not fussing, whining, or scratching, something quite unusual for an animal after what must have been a very long trip indeed. Instead it was just watching what was going on outside the crate, eyes alertly following any movement.
Nik was tired. And vaguely annoyed. This crate was cramped, it had been a long trip, and he was more than ready to get out of there. However, such a thing entailed either shifting to his other form and trying to rip his way out, or hoping one of the people at Haven would actually open the door. Seeing as it was much less likely to terrify the residents, so far he had opted to wait for the door to be opened. The scents here were so very different from back home. For a moment there was a twinge of homesickness in the man, but he didn't let it dissuade him. He knew this would be hard, but it was what was best.
