If anyone had asked Kira what she thought Pete was thinking in that moment, it wouldn't have been anything nearly so uncharitable. Of course, she had a bit of an inflated opinion of him. Weren't a lot of people she trusted, much less looked at as damn near family.
"'S ok. No real good way to handle it." A shrug there, and an almost apologetic smile. Shit, this sucked. Kira wasn't exactly the type to ask for a hug, and for someone to tell her it was all going to be ok. Still, she was scared, and it was getting increasingly more difficult to hide that fact.
His last words made her pause as she wandered in the general direction of what looked like the showers, glancing over her shoulder. "Anything?" The look was serious, and thoughtful. And with that potentially worrisome question, she headed off to have a shower.
She had a fairly long shower, not emerging until a half hour or so had passed. Hair was still damp, but she'd found one of the Haven generic tshirt and shorts sets that fit her. A bit big, but being so sick she'd dropped a lot of weight by now. If anything, she looked more serious than before she'd gotten cleaned up, eyes red either from soap or crying. Not that she'd likely admit to it, if it was the latter of the two.
