She studied his face for a long moment there, then shook her head with a slight smile. "Shit. I'm sorry, Pete. I shouldn't have called you. You shouldn't have to deal with this shit." No one should have to deal with this shit, but if she'd called someone else, someone who didn't really care about her that much...would be easier.
The thing about getting cleaned up got a nod, and a grimace as she looked down at herself. "Both of us do, I'd say. You seem to have gotten muck all over you. I'm just muddy." Or at least that was what she kept telling herself. Still, Kira didn't seem to be in any hurry, and after another pause spoke up. "Don't really want to be alone at the moment. Not like going back to my room is going to do me any good, anyway." What was she supposed to do, go back and sit and wait to die?
"How durable is this collar thing? I mean, can I shower and shit with it on, or do we need to find a way to make sure my powers are under control before I get clean?" It had certainly been helpful, even if the idea of such a device made her a bit queasy. Talk about a bad freaking idea.
