She was a bit surprised they both managed to make it up without some sort of mishap. All that gear had to weigh a ton. How the hell had he even run with...and was that a flamethrower? Before she could ask, or even make a smartass comment about him burning down the forest, he was on the communicator with someone.
Sick or not, the conversation was quite amusing. It was all she could do not to burst out laughing while he was yelling at the folks on the other end, and as he cut the connection she just couldn't stand it anymore. Yeah, Shroud didn't laugh for long 'cause it hurt, but that had been funny as hell. "Least for once I didn't have to have that conversation!"
Even if she didn't approve of the whole smoking thing, it just came with the territory when you were dealing with Wisdom so it was ignored. "Power dampener collar? That..could be scary. This is our invention, right? Not something we stole?" Serums were bad enough, but if someone got their hands on a prototype of this...well, she would be afraid but it was seeming like she wouldn't be around to care.
If she felt guilty, she wasn't showing it. Not yet, anyway. Humor was always best when faced with the undead. Kira was definitely grateful to be heading back to the mansion, though. Even if she did have to stop a couple times for coughing fits. Depending on how sharp an eye he had, Pete might catch the blood on her hand quickly wiped off on the jeans. Though she did speak up as they got to the door. "No infirmary. They can't do anything." Whatever humor had been in her tone was gone, replaced with a grimness that echoed her face.
