Kira was starting to get really, really tired of this stomach bug. Still, the drugs she'd been taking were enough to make sure she could eat and even if she still didn't feel great, it was better than being in the bathroom all the time. She'd stopped going to get the booster shots, by now. They weren't doing a damn thing, so she'd decided it wasn't worth the trouble. And really, she was terrified. Like she'd felt when her powers first manifested, only worse. Then things were new, there was a reason she couldn't control them. Now...now what was going on?
The sun had felt so good, the heat soothing the aches in her body, and the girl had drifted off on a blanket in the rather large expanse of grass that lead out to the woods behind Haven. It was Buster's low growl that woke her, the dog on its feet, hackles raised as the low, warning sound rumbled from him. It took the girl a couple tries to blink sleep away, then push up to one elbow to see what had him so pissed.
The sight that greeted her was enough to almost make Kira throw up then and there. Two...no, three shambling figures moving out of the woods towards them. For a moment she thought her heart had stopped in her chest before she managed a shaky breath, reaching inward for that control to send them back, tell them to rest. Unfortunately, like so many times recently, her powers were nowhere to be found. And the things that looked -and smelled- for all the world like Dawn of the Dead extras kept coming, slowly.
