Storm was in the atrium when the red alert sounded, doing cuttings so she could spread some of the plants out more. They were starting to crowd and once they did, the nutrients available to everyone went down considerably. A good gardener knew how to counteract that. Normally, this would have been considered her quiet time, most people didn't bother themselves with being in the atrium at all, so she could be reasonably sure of going undisturbed.
At least until the red alert went off. The atrium itself was equipped with speakers and they were connected into the overall alert system, which made the sound vibrating off the glass something to hear. Not that it did much but further sour a mood that was already swiftly headed south.
One hand dropped the pruning sheers in the soft dirt while the other clicked on her comm to signal all available X-men to converge on her signal. This was an 'On the Grounds' alert meaning whatever threat it was had already passed the perimeter defenses. Someone was going to have to explain that one, but it would have to be later. Storm was out of the atrium at a flat out run which turned into flight before she reached the front door of the manor.
She only slowed long enough to open it and step out onto the front steps. Whomever that was, and she couldn't make it out from there as them being anything other than a walking mass, was about to get a rather unhappy welcome. While they hadn't shown themselves to be directly hostile, Storm was no more interested in taking chances than anyone else. Better to subdue now than have to clean up the blood later.
Warpath's appearance behind him however slowed her reactions. She wasn't going to put him in the line of fire unnecessarily. Better to hold off a moment and see what the intruder did with the situation.
